Life and it’s changes

You never bloody where its gonna take you next…. 2 months ago i was in Bermuda with the family and basically baby-sitting full-time. Now I’m touring Spain with my new girlfriend, and have a flat in Barcelona…. unexpected but I’m not complaining.

Back with more free time on my hands and writing for Stoke Travel so life is turning down a pleasant path.. Although shit can always take a left turn I prefer to think it can last a long time, plus my lady is a dream come true so I hope it does.

I still find the whole situation to be a bit surreal, transferring from Bermuda to a dame in the sunshine and endless sex… Beats the shit out of applying for boring jobs, plus Stoke is still growing and venturing to new places like Brazil and Thailand so theres no need to jump ship.

So there’s my update, we’re off to Seville tomorrow..

Surviving (Pt. 2)

A while back I wrote about how I moved back to Barcelona for work in order to appreciate the value of money and hard work, well I’m starting an internship next week in real estate for a company called Area Casa.

As my hours with Stoke Travel are flexible I thought I’d check for something in another industry, and real estate popped up!

This will mean I can easily pay my rent and maybe still have some left over to do some weekend trips to see friends in nearby cities.

YES!! SUCCESS!!

Living with locals is still pretty chill as we just talk about our plans, work and me being a crazy bastard that goes to run with bulls… I sensed the anticipation when I came back.

What I also respect is that we all put in an equal share to maintain the house, 10 euros each a month for cleaning utensils and we all have a common area to clean on a semi-weekly basis that rotates.

I just cleaned the kitchen actually…kind of why I’m writing this.

But as most men, cleaning is not one of my favourite things to do…so I found a way to make it fun.

I roll one, spark it…play some music, get out all the cleaning material and dance away ‘til the rooms spotless… cuz there’s no way I can do that sober without getting bored.

So… as life after University begins to flow… I got to say it feels good.

The Stoke Chronicles: Sant Joan

Sant Joan… it’s the day that marks the beginning of summer, and the entire city celebrates it like a kid on Christmas morning. Firecrackers, fireworks, blazing, drinking and just havin’ a good time is the order of the day.

So Stoke started that beast of a day with a boat party. Describing to our guests that Sant Joan is a wild beach celebration of 10’s of 1000’s of people getting smashed until they pass out….I saw smiles go across the rows.

Bartending with my homegirl Isa from Dominican Republic, we were dishin’ out drinks at light speed but since everything is unlimited people were asking for 10 beers at a time….and coming back 5 min. later!!

In anticipation of the long night ahead, many decide to conserve their energy…but definitely not their livers…dishing out the remaining 50 or so beers across the group we stumbled on down to the beach.

Lighting a bowl… I noticed a few guests from our boat trip sit down next to me….we have a chat, they say their from Texas and noticing their eagerness I asked if they wanted to smoke too.

“Thanks man, that’s kind of the reason why I came here,” He responded.

Passing them Miss Mary we get into a conversation about how expensive weed is in London…. .XD, since we both studied there for a while.

After a few minutes I look up to see everyone else enjoying the remaining beers and sipping Sangria from a bucket with a ladle, in the name of Sant Joan.

With what must have been over 100,000 people along the shore, it was only natural we dance along all the bars that were renovated into clubs for this insane night.

As everyone had a good time I just gotta say that with us you don’t have to worry or stress about being able to go wild….. because we do everyday.

To witness a KIDNAPPING!

In summer of ’07 I was working for a private contractor as a trainee electrician.  It was a fuckin’ fantastic job cuz all we did was make conversation with the ladies and talk shit to each other… whilst doing our job of course.

One mornin’ I noticed that a mirror to my moped was stolen and I was actually kinda relieved…. because they looked kinda faggy on my ride and I was gonna take them down that night.

So as I meet with the guys for work, me and a co-worker…. (let’s call him Stewie ) were sent to an address which neither of us knew, for a job.

As we’re on my moped we realise we went passed the house and as we tried to turn in the middle of the street…then… SHIT HAPPENED!!!

We get rammed on our side by a black car with tinted windows, my rides crumbling beneath me and as soon as I regain composure I see Stewie getting smacked across the face and tossed into the car by two guys.

One of them tells me…”This isn’t of your concern”

And despite memorizing the license plate before they drove off…I followed the “Negro Code” that is, NO SNITCHIN’!!

Plus this type of shit always happened to Stewie…. he somehow managed to get raped by a crazy bitch the previous week after getting drugged by her.

So I called my boss and told him Stewie got kidnapped… he asked if I was serious, which I said I was and he burst out laughing XD.

We agreed calling the police would be too much hassle and he’ll pop up eventually.

Which he did…apparently they were looking for a paedophile that was sextin’ their lil’ cousin… followed her description, found Stewie, gave him a concussion with his own helmet and took him to the girl…

He wasn’t even the right guy….. XD

Sure enough they drop him off at the hospital, from where he called us and told us everything… he was given time off to recover but we gave him so much shit for it when he got back…

Later that day on my ride home I noticed that the other faggy mirror had broken off during the kidnappin’… problem solved with minimal effort.

For those concerned about Stewie he’s doing perfectly fine now and we still joke, about it to this day.
